One job: move clean power to the hours that need it.

VerdantWatt Inc. is a Toronto clean-energy company, incorporated in August 2026. We are developing solar and battery storage for parking lots and commercial roofs, and energy-first smart homes, all aimed at Ontario’s evening peak.

Every date below is a target. We will keep this page current, and say plainly when something moves.

  1. August 2026

    VerdantWatt Inc. is incorporated

    Federally incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act, based in Toronto.

  2. Now

    Groundwork

    Registering with the IESO, searching for our pilot site and looking for Smart Living pilot homes.

  3. 2027

    Pilot Plant #0

    A 30 kW solar canopy with a 25 kW / 100 kWh battery, targeted to run by September 30, 2027.

  4. 2028

    Trading and first rooftop

    Energy trading begins around our own storage. Plant #1’s site is secured and our first rooftop contract signed.

  5. 2029

    Plant #1

    Our first full-size plant: 1.25 MW / 5 MWh of storage.

  6. 2030

    Plants #2 and #3

    Two more plants, and the first Juice Tap chargers tested at Plant #2.

  7. 2031 to 2032

    Plants #4 to #6

    Six plants in all: 7.5 MW / 30 MWh of storage and 6 MW of solar.

  8. 2033 and on

    Scale

    More plants across the GTA, and EV charging rolled out across our sites.

How we work.

A young company earns trust by being specific. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.

  • Say what is real

    Plans are labelled as plans and targets as targets. Until our first plant is built, the images on this site show what we plan to build.

  • Show the mechanism

    Sun, battery, peak. If we cannot explain how a project helps Ontario’s grid in a sentence, we do not build it.

  • Buy direct, own the assets

    We will import equipment from manufacturers and own the plants we build, which keeps costs and paybacks honest.

  • Safety is licensed work

    LiFePO4 chemistry, purpose-built enclosures, and every hardwired job done by Licensed Electrical Contractors.

  • Local first

    Smart Living homes are designed to run on a hub inside the home, so they keep working without the internet or anyone’s cloud.

  • Every watt counts

    Our tagline is also our test: does this put clean power where it does the most good?
