IESO registration in progress

Trading that starts with a battery.

Power is worth the most in the hours Ontario needs it most. We are registering to trade in the province’s electricity market around the batteries we plan to build and own: store energy when it is plentiful, and supply it back at the peak.

How Ontario’s market works.

The Independent Electricity System Operator, the IESO, runs Ontario’s wholesale electricity market. Since May 1, 2025, it has run a day-ahead market alongside the real-time market, with prices set by location.IESO

Prices follow demand. On an average 2025 summer weekday, Ontario’s demand built through the afternoon and peaked in the early evening. Overnight, it fell away.

  1. Charge from solar. The canopy fills the battery through the middle of the day.
  2. Supply the grid. Weekdays from 4 to 9 p.m., the on-peak period, when demand runs highest.
  3. Top up overnight. Only when tomorrow looks cloudy, on the ultra-low overnight rate.

Our approach.

We will trade only around energy we actually hold. The battery comes first, the trade follows.

  • Storage first

Every offer will start from energy in our own batteries. We will not sell power we cannot deliver.

  • Forecast, then commit

Each day’s charge and discharge will be planned from demand and price forecasts, then adjusted in real time.

  • Built for the peak

Supplying the grid in its busiest hours eases the strain on Ontario’s system when it is tightest.

  • Clean by design

Our plants are designed to charge from their own solar canopies first, and from the grid overnight only when needed.
