Seeking pilot homes in the GTA
A home that is smart about every watt.
VerdantWatt Smart Living offers complete smart home systems for houses and new condo and rental buildings. Climate, lights, locks and leak sensors, run by a hub inside your home and tuned to Ontario’s electricity rates.
Energy first. Then everything else.
Most smart homes stop at convenience. Ours start with the meter. Every system is set up to keep comfort high and the bill low under Ontario’s time-of-use rates.
Tuned to Ontario’s rates
Pre-cool or pre-heat before on-peak prices start. Run the car and the dishwasher on the ultra-low overnight rate.
Runs inside your home
Every home has its own hub. It keeps working without the internet and without any company’s cloud.
Catches problems early
Leak sensors under sinks and appliances warn you at the first drop, before it becomes a flood.
Ready for what is next
Energy Home systems are prepared for solar, batteries and future demand response programs.
Inside an Energy Home.
The roof is off so you can see where each part lives. Everything reports to one hub, and the hub decides what runs when.
- Solar carport Makes daytime power the home uses first.
- Home battery Stores solar and cheap overnight power for the evening peak.
- Local hub Runs everything in the house, even with the internet down.
- Leak sensors Alert you at the first drop, under the kitchen sink and in the bathroom.
- Smart lock Keyless entry with codes you control.
The lime lines trace power from the carport and battery to the hub and the rooms.
Three packages for houses.
Each package includes the devices, installation, setup and a walkthrough when we hand it over. Anything beyond a package can be added.

Smart suites, built in during construction.
For condo developers, rental builders and property managers. We install a complete, locally controlled system in every suite while the walls are open, when wiring is simplest.
Each suite gets its own hub, so residents own their system and nothing stops working if the building network goes down.

- Energy-ready suites. Prepared for time-of-use savings and future demand response programs.
- One partner. Design, licensed installation, resident onboarding and ongoing support.
Building-level options
Leak alerts to the management office, common-area lighting schedules, resident move-in setup and a fully loaded model suite for your sales centre.

One hub per home. Yours to keep.
Every Smart Living system runs on Home Assistant, the open home platform, on a Raspberry Pi 5 that starts from a solid-state drive instead of a memory card. We flash every hub from one standard, tested image.
- Works with Zigbee, Thread and Matter devices, so you are not tied to one brand
- Devices chosen to work locally, without a vendor cloud that can shut down
- Your automations and history stay on the hub in your home
Be one of our first homes.
We are looking for a small number of GTA homes for our first installs. Pilot homes help us measure real install times and real savings before we grow.
Questions people ask
Does it need the internet to work?
No. The hub runs your home from inside it, so lights, locks, sensors and schedules keep working when the internet is down. You need a connection only to reach your home from your phone when you are away, and for updates.
Is there a monthly fee?
The system works without one. Support plans are optional. They cover updates, backups and help when you need it.
Who does the electrical work?
Hardwired devices, such as wall switches and line-voltage thermostats, are installed by a Licensed Electrical Contractor, as Ontario requires.
Can I keep devices I already have?
Often, yes. Many popular devices work with Home Assistant, the open platform every Smart Living hub runs on. We check what you have when we quote.
What is demand response?
Programs that reward homes for using less power during the grid’s busiest hours. Energy Home systems are set up so they can join such programs as they become available.
Do you work in condos?
Yes. We work with developers, builders and property managers on whole buildings, and with owners on single suites.
